Metronusanews.id | Washington, D.C. – Indonesia has officially been appointed as Deputy Commander of the International Stabilization Force (ISF) for Gaza during the inaugural “Board of Peace” forum held in Washington, D.C., United States.

The appointment marks a significant step in international efforts to establish a post-conflict stabilization framework in Gaza. The forum brings together participating nations and international stakeholders to design a coordinated security structure, civilian protection mechanism, and reconstruction roadmap for the region.

President Prabowo Subianto attended the high-level meeting, where discussions focused on security transition, humanitarian access, and governance support following the recent escalation of conflict in Gaza.

Indonesia’s designation as Deputy Commander reflects international recognition of the country’s long-standing contribution to global peacekeeping missions. For decades, Indonesia has actively deployed personnel under United Nations mandates through its Garuda Contingent, participating in various peace operations worldwide.

The International Stabilization Force is expected to focus on:
-Ensuring post-conflict security and stability
-Protecting civilians
-Supporting humanitarian aid distribution
-Assisting in institutional and governance transition

The Indonesian government reaffirmed its consistent support for a two-state solution and its commitment to promoting a just and lasting peace for Palestine. Officials emphasized that Indonesia’s involvement aligns with its constitutional mandate to contribute to global peace and international order.

Further technical discussions are ongoing regarding the legal mandate, command structure, and coordination mechanisms between participating countries and relevant regional authorities.

Indonesia’s new role within the ISF framework underscores its growing diplomatic presence in global peace initiatives and reinforces its position as an active contributor to multilateral conflict resolution efforts.
