Metronusanews.id | Washington DC – President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, outlined Indonesia’s national transformation agenda during a business forum with American corporate leaders at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC on Wednesday (February 18, 2026).

Speaking at a roundtable discussion, President Prabowo emphasized his administration’s commitment to accelerating economic modernization through digital education, downstream industrial development, and strengthened national investment financing under the Danantara framework.

Advancing a National Digital School Program
One of the key priorities presented was the National Digital School initiative. The government aims to expand technology-based education infrastructure across the country, including in remote regions.

The program focuses on improving internet connectivity, providing digital learning tools, and enhancing teachers’ digital competencies to prepare Indonesia’s young generation for the global digital economy.

According to the President, education reform is a fundamental pillar in building a competitive and future-ready workforce.

Continuing Downstream Industrialization
President Prabowo also reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to continuing its downstream policy on natural resources. The strategy seeks to increase added value, create jobs, and strengthen the country’s industrial base.

He invited U.S. investors to participate in strategic sectors such as manufacturing, renewable energy, mineral processing, and other value-added industries.

Introducing Danantara Investment Scheme
During the forum, President Prabowo introduced Danantara as a strategic national financing and investment platform designed to support priority projects and infrastructure development.

The initiative aims to enhance collaboration between the government and global private sector partners while ensuring regulatory reform and a more competitive investment climate.

Strengthening Indonesia–U.S. Economic Partnership
The visit forms part of Indonesia’s economic diplomacy efforts to attract foreign direct investment (FDI), expand export market access, and strengthen the country’s position in global supply chains.

The meeting in Washington DC is expected to further deepen economic ties between Indonesia and the United States in various strategic sectors.
