
Metronusanews.id | Washington, D.C. – President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, attended the Inaugural Meeting of the Board of Peace (BoP) held at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C., on Friday (February 20, 2026).
The high-level forum brought together global leaders, policymakers, and peace advocates to discuss international stability and post-conflict reconstruction efforts, particularly in Gaza.
In his remarks, President Prabowo emphasized Indonesia’s unwavering commitment to multilateralism, peaceful conflict resolution, and respect for international law. He reiterated that Indonesia remains consistent in implementing its long-standing “free and active” foreign policy while contributing constructively to global peace initiatives.
Addressing the situation in Gaza, President Prabowo highlighted the urgency of coordinated international action to accelerate humanitarian assistance and infrastructure rebuilding. He stated that Indonesia stands ready to support reconstruction efforts, including the deployment of medical teams, humanitarian aid, and technical assistance.
“Reconstruction is not merely about rebuilding physical infrastructure, but also about restoring hope and human dignity,” President Prabowo affirmed.
The Board of Peace initiative, themed around fostering a “New Dawn for Gaza,” aims to strengthen international collaboration in addressing humanitarian crises and promoting sustainable peace frameworks.
President Prabowo’s participation underscores Indonesia’s position as an active middle power in global diplomacy and reinforces its strategic engagement with the United States and the broader international community on key global issues.
